There are several variation of blog signatures. Some people use a signature to make the end of their site seem more personal. Here's an example, featuring one of the biggest fashion bloggers out there, Gala Darling.
I have a plugin that gives a brief bio at the end of every post, called WP About Author. You'll notice it below, but only if you opened the post in a new window, or came to the link directly. At the bottom of every post, you're able to share it, read about it the author, then comment.
