Another month, another realization that I'm not trying hard enough to get rid of this debt! Ugh. I have ebbs and flows to my progress. Here are some new things I'm trying.
1. Melody at Broke on Purpose inspired me to look into the cash envelope system and sinking funds accounts. I'm not a fan of cash, and believe me I tried to be. The sinking funds accounts, though? I'm here for them!
My goal was to create a budget, categorize most of the areas, and to have a checking account for each. That way, I can set up direct deposit and/or automatic transfers.
I ended up repurposing a dormant Capital One 360 account and starting a new Discover Cash Back checking account.
I've had a job for half my life and I'm realizing my financial mindset hasn't changed. I'm still living like I'm a single 18 year old and not a homeowner, spouse and mother of two. Here's an ongoing thread of financial resources that I'm implementing or planning to use. pic.twitter.com/L4QWulaqJo— #ScandalousBeauty Makeup Podcast (@ErinBaynham) March 28, 2018
