Dermadoctor

I Wish I Liked It: Dermadoctor Litmus Test Glycolic Acid Facial Cleansing Gel by Erin Baynham

I recently ran out of my Boscia cleanser. The cleanser that worked for me, and made me feel sparkly clean. I went to re-up on my usual, but the lady working at Ulta told me that Dermadoctor might be something I might like. Besides that, the beauty lover in me was excited to try something new! This line is very interesting because it is Litmus Test glycolic acid facial cleansing gelknown as a treatment line. It isn't organic or all natural, but targets certain things that we want to change in our skin. This could include wrinkles, acne, dryness and sweating, to name a few. Oh yeah, the packaging is too cute for words. I couldn't get enough! Right Now I'm using Litmus Test Glycolic Acid Facial Cleansing Gel. This sounds like a perfect way to go, since it supposedly balances out the skin. The website says it "Litmus Test glycolic acid facial cleansing gel helps reestablish healthy skin chemistry.  Gently and effectively exfoliates and promotes cellular turnover which helps to improve appearance of fine lines and wrinkles." The reviews were pretty mixed, but I thought it might be a good idea to try it. It's been three days, but my face is burning! It feels like it's dry, but doesn't look it. I used it around 10am this morning, but my face is still slightly burning. Maybe it's not burning, but it doesn't feel normal. But then again, maybe it's working? I'm pretty sure that it's from the glycolic acid. I haven't used this in my skincare for a few years now, since I realized that I wasn't really acne prone.

The lady working at Ulta told me that the KP Duty dermatologist body scrub ($44) was fantastic. Not only is it perfectly gritty, but it was medicated to treat and truly slough off dead skin. The website says "Dermatologist-recommended chemical exfoliants dissolve the glue that cements epidermal cells together.  Smooth, non-abrasive synthetic beads lift away dead skin cells.  Skin is resurfaced and retexturized; soft, smooth and radiant."

This bad boy will be returned tomorrow.

Edit: While looking at the website, I found the warning below: "Sunburn Alert: This product contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA) that may increase your skin's sensitivity to the sun and particularly the possibility of sunburn.  Wear a broad spectrum SPF 30 sunscreen, and limit sun exposure while using this product and for a week afterwards." This definitely sucks, as I had been outside (but wore sunscreen) all weekend. Good grief...
