After four years of being loc'd, I've decided to make some changes and break some of my rules. Ever since I came back from Jamaica, my hair has been looking rough. Since I prefer neat and tidy, freshly twisted locs, this has been a major struggle for me.
I washed my hair and psyched myself up to re-twist it. But my locs are small and my arms were getting tired, so I just gave up after the 5th one. I decided to go back to interlocking. I did this quite a bit during my first and second years. You basically weave your loc through your new growth and form a knot (watch a tutorial here and here). I probably shouldn't switch back and forth between this and palm rolling, so I won't. This method doesn't give me the super duper slick look that I love, but it looks waaaay better than it did before. This is also exciting because I can wash my hair as much as I want and don't have to worry about losing my parts. Hello, hot yoga!
