Hello, Skincare: A Few Notables from Sunday Riley, Kate Somerville, Caudalie and more / by Erin Baynham

Last Sunday, I skipped the Emmy's and hightailed down 495 to my old work stomping ground at Tyson's Corner. They were hosting their #Skincareselfie event, where beauty bloggers from the DC/MD/VA (DMV) area learned about new products for the season. IMG_7279

There was a lovely spread ready for ravishing! IMG_7285

PTR came out with acne "stickers" that actually reduce the size and devastation (heh) of pimples. Just put it on before you hit the bed!

This Irish Moor Mud actually uses 900 year old mud from Ireland! How crazy is that? Where the heck do you even find mud that old?!

Sunday Riley

I've been wanting to try Sunday Riley forever.

The rep, Josh, told us that mixing Ceramic Slip cleanser and Good Genes serum is actually an amazing power facial. I'd like to try it, but I'll need $150 to buy both items first!

Caudalie

I've seen Caudalie products in stores for a long time, but I never took interest in them. They didn't strike me as an interesting brand. The rep, Amie, was a total sweetheart. I was immediately at ease when she said the brand is all natural, and everything is safe for me to use as a pregnant woman.

Out of everything, I was the most fascinated my the Beauty Elixir! When she misted my face with it, I just knew I had to have it. It not only sets your makeup, but it's also a toner and refresher. I am positive I'll be purchasing a bottle when I hit Sephora next time.

I tried both of these items when I was getting married, and let me tell you, I used them to the very last drop. They're luxury items, but once you feel the quality, you'll definitely understand why.

IMG_7312This entire setup was drool worthy.

There were a few brands that I didn't really get to spend much time with. Amore Pacific, creators of the Treatment Enzyme Peel, showed us an eye roller pen and a foundation that didn't come in my color. Boo. Algenist was also in the building. I learned that this is a brand developed by scientists, so there's a big emphasis on science. Lots of fancy words that I barely understand, but I tried. I tested one of their peels that did wonders on the back of my hand during the demo, but I need to double check and make sure it's safe for me to use while pregnant. Fresh and Clairisonic were in attendance, but unfortunately I missed their demos. I have been using the Soy Face Cleanser for a few months now, and it's something that I've purchased after I received samples. It makes my skin feel clean without feeling stripped. I did hear the Clairisonic lady say that using the Mia 2 makes cleaners and other skincare items 40% more effective than just putting on top of your face with your hands. *Mind blown*

After I go through my bag of samples, I'll be sure to update you on any products that I loved! There were lots of great contenders in there, so it should be a fun couple of weeks for my skin!
